A pair of matching footed ruffle edged Vaseline glass compotes or candy dishes. The compotes measure 4 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" wide along the rim and 3 1/4" across the base. The maker is unknown. The condition is excellent.
Vaseline glass is a yellowish green glass produced during the 1920s that got its name from it's color, which resembled the appearance of petroleum jelly that was made at the time. Vaseline glass is also known as uranium glass because the uranium oxide added to the glass in its molten state causes it to glow bright green under black light
