United Feature Syndicate 1978 Garfield "It's Not a Pretty Life..." Mug

A 1978 glass mug featuring Garfield swinging on a hammock with the thought bubble "It's not a pretty life but somebody has to live it" on one side and his sidekick Odie is on the other side of the mug grasping the hammock in his mouth while holding a fan and soda.  The mug measures 3" across the rim and 3 3/8" high.  The mug is marked "Garfield Characters:  1978 Copyright 1978 United Feature Syndicate Inc." and the McDonald's logo.  The bottom of the mug is marked with the Anchor Hocking logo and the condition is very good, with bright clean graphics and no hint of use.

During the 1970s and 1980s, McDonald's offered promotional items to its customers with the purchase of a happy meal.  Jim Davis' Garfield mugs were good quality glass made by Anchor Hocking and sported quality graphics.  So far, I have seen the following mugs and will update if I come across new ones:

1. Side 1:  "The Early Cat Gets the Hotcake" and Side 2:  "This is the Only Alarm Clock I need to Set."
2. Side 1:  "Such a Beautiful Sunset...and Me Without a Horse" and Side 2:  "I've Never Seen a Sunrise...I'm Waiting for the Movie."
3. Side 1:  "Use Your Friends Wisely."
4. Side 1:  "Whoever invented evenings probably invented teddy bears too." and Side 2:  "I'd like mornings better if they started later."
5. Side 1:  "I never met a dinner I didn't like." and Side 2:  "And what will you fellas have for breakfast."
6. Side 1:  "I'm not one who rises to the occasion."
7. Side 1:  "It's not a pretty life but somebody has to live it."
8. Side 1:  "I'm easy to get along with when things go my way."
