Summerhays' Encyclopaedia for Horsemen Compiled by R.S. Summerhays is a 365-page hardcover published by Frederick Warne and Co. Ltd. London and New York, first published in 1952, this copy is the fourth revised edition published in 1966. The dust jacket is in fair condition, with numerous creases, chips and closed tears. Inside, the book is clean and the binding is tight. The previous owner's name is written in ink to the front paste down. There appears to be one picture missing from the bookplates. The overall condition is good.
Since the last revision of this invaluable book of reference for all who are connected with or interested in horses, still more research has brought to light enough new material to warrant another edition. More than two hundred additional entries now bring the number to over 3,700.
