A sturdy handmade stoneware plate inscribed with the words "Where Wisdom is Perfect Words are Few" on a speckled natural glaze and rim accented with dabs of darker glaze. The plate, which has a prominent unglazed base, measures 9 1/2" in diameter with a profile height of 1". The maker is unknown and the condition is very good.
