A stunning pair of matching Satsuma earthenware vases in a classic urn shape, two top-set handles leading to flared scalloped rims, and featuring central designs of three men, one appearing to be a nobleman, on each side surrounded by richly detailed beading and moriage designs in shades of yellow, green, blue, gold, and brown. Each vase measures 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" rim measurement, 6" across the middle, 3 3/4" across the base, and standing 12 1/2" tall. The bottom of one of the pieces is marked but the maker is unknown, and the condition of both is good.
