A large octagonal ceramic platter by Georges Briard featuring a unique gold marbleized effect. The dish measures 11 1/2" across with a profile height of 1 1/2" tall. The bottom is marked "Marble Ware Authentic reproduction of an 18th Century English process of blending color by hand, originated by the Ancient Romans. From the Private Collection of Georges Briard." The condition is very good, with only some utensil marks present.
